During pregnancy, stomach, buttocks, thighs and breasts swell naturally. This results in rapid expansion and tearing of inner layer of skin (dermis) of the sexiest parts of female body leading to stretch marks. In the beginning, when the dermis layer tears, one can find thin red lines which later change into unsightly white lines. After delivery when the skin starts contracting, the stretch marks look hideous.

- Making little changes in dieting

1. Change your diet: Follow a controlled but healthy diet so that you do not put on weight very fast. Steady and controlled weight gain during pregnancy does not cause much damage to the skin cells. Take more Vitamin E rich food like nuts and seeds, fruits like pears and blackberries so that skin cells do not get damaged easily. Drinking lot of water is a must to flush out all toxins to keep our skin healthy. Drinking water also helps in keeping skin hydrated.
2.Take more care of your skin: Gently massage tummy and other stretch mark prone areas using a soft cloth to increase blood circulation. You have to keep skin moisturized using natural oil or herbs. (Chemicals based moisturizing creams are not advisable). Olive oil is said to be very good for moisturizing skin. Preventing stretch marks is better than trying to getting rid of them later
