PGX Daily Ultra Matrix Weight Loss Supplements
With an attractive slogan “PGX will change your life, even if you don’t”, PGX Daily weight loss supplements are getting attention of people looking for effective diet pills. But do you find anything special in this slogan? Not really.
PGX Daily dietary supplements are being advertised heavily these days and also being sold at mega-stores like Walmart. But do these softgel capsules really work is big question mark.
Are these very similar to Lipozene, FiberThin and Propolene is another question.
PGX Daily Ultramatrix Softgels Ingredients – Not a Miracle Pill!
Its main formula PGX (PolyGlycoplex) (750mg) is a blend of 3 ingredients
- Konjac root: It is nothing but Glucomannan fibre that is proven to aid weight loss when taken at doses of 2000mg-4000mg a day.
- Sodium Alginate: An algae-based thickener.
- Xanthan gum: A thickening agent formed when the bacteria Xanthomonas campestris is combined with corn sugar.
The other active ingredient is Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT oil) which can aid weight loss when taken in very large dosage, perhaps 50 times more of what PGX Daily has.
PGX sellers claim that it has 600mg of MCT in one capsule, but in reality it is not likely, as with 600 mg of MCT, the capsule would be too large to be swallowed.
How does PGX Daily softgel work?
PGX Ultra Matrix is mainly a Glucomannan pill or fibre based supplement.
Glucomannan is proven to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, balance blood sugar levels and aid weight loss by suppressing appetite when taken in large doses.
According to a study done by the Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago in 2005 “Glucomannan may promote weight loss. At doses of 2-4 g per day, Glucomannan was well-olerated and resulted in significant weight loss in overweight and obese individuals”
According to Drug Digest “Glucomannan does not dissolve in water, but forms a thick, gooey gel when exposed to fluids. The body does not digest glucomannan, so the resulting large soft mass moves through the intestines and may trigger intestinal muscle contractions.”
But, PGX softgels are less likely to have required amount of Glucomannan, a fibre from konjac root (Amount not clearly disclosed on official website) and so less likely to aid significant weight loss.
Definitely it won’t change your life, even if you don’t. It is not a miracle pill.
With Konjac root as main active ingredient, it looks similar to other Glucomannan based pills like Lipozene, FiberThin and Propolene which were fined by Federal Trade Commission for making misleading claims.
PGX Daily side effects
According to Drug Digest “Glucomannan pills are not recommended for oral use. Reportedly, several individuals experienced blockage of the esophagus when they took glucomannan in pill form.”
Another concern is it may obstruct the absorption of certain nutrients.
Where to buy PGX Daily softgels?
These can be purchased at many health food stores, pharmacy and supermarkets like Walmart. One can buy them online also from some websites.
