August 18, 2009 # 7:53 pm # Fat Burning Pills # 13 CommentsSensa Weight Loss Tastants : Can Smell and Taste suppress your appetite and aid weight loss?
Sensa is not a drug, it is a food product!
Sensa is a totally different type of weight loss supplement which comes in the form of Tastants which have to be sprinkled evenly over food just before eating. First it was introduced in US and Canada and soon it would be available at UK too. DailyMail.Co.Uk has already reviewed this product.
What exactly is Sensa Weight Loss product?
Sensa weight loss system comes with Sensa shakers for each month of the program, one shaker for home, and one to take with to work and there are two sides of Sensa shaker, one for salty and one for sweet. Each month users are supplied with different variations of sprinkles. They say that using same every month wouldn’t aid weight loss.
Ingredients:
According to its official website Sensa contains Maltodextrin (Derived from Corn from the USA), Tricalcium Phosphate, Silica, Natural and Artificial Flavors, FD&C Yellow 5, and Carmine. Sensa also contains Soy and Milk ingredients. Sensa is sodium-free, sugar-free, calorie free, gluten-free, and there are no stimulants, drugs or MSG.
Note: They claim it has 0 calories, but when it has soy, milk and corn ingredients, how it can have no calories at all?
How does it work? – Resembles Aroma Therapy!
Alan Hirsch, M.D, F.A.C.P., is a researcher with dual certification in neurology and psychiatry, is behind this innovative weight loss product. According to its official website, Sensa products are developed by Dr.Hirsch after 20 years of extensive research on impact of smell and tastes on weight loss. Sensa is said to suppress appetite as follows (from official website)
- Scents from Sensa Tastants travel through nose to nerve receptors.
- The receptors send signals to the brain that stimulate the olfactory bulb.
- The olfactory bulb, in turn, signals the satiety center in the hypothalamus.
- The hypothalamus sends signals to the pituitary gland that triggers the release of hormones that suppress hunger and appetite.
Sensa Sprinkles Pros

Sensa Tastants Cons

- Does not encourage healthy eating and regular exercises.
- Unclear weight loss claim of up to 30 pounds in 6 months
- Not likely to work for people who are not much receptive to taste and smell.
- Sensa has got mixed response from users online.
- Costly – costs $39-$59 per month depending on package.
- The website clearly mentions the rules – Stop eating when you start to feel full, Give Sensa time to work and continue your existing exercise routine.

Conclusion
Considering both pros and cons, Sensa doesn’t look like a scam. If you look at the user feedback online at forums and review websites, you would be in dilemmas to whether to go for it or not. If you go for Sensa, eat healthy and do regular exercises (like walking half an hour daily) to experience healthy weight loss.
Personally, I don’t think that it’s a good weight loss supplement; you may have different opinion though!

I have been using Sensa for months now and must admit that I am very happy with the results. I actually gained weight the first two weeks and became very disallusioned with it and almost gave up. It was only after I read a bunch of reviews at SensaSolution.com that I decided to keep trying. My only regret was that I did not take advantage of the free offer. Although I now feel as if I paid too much, I am happy I am losing weight.
One thing about Sensa is that is not exciting weight loss. It only happens about 1-1.5 pounds a week. It was only after a few weeks of using the stuff did I start to feel pretty good about the stuff.
Hi, sounds so interesting! I live in UK, was wondering if it is possible to get sensa in UK? Thanks for your help
I think Sensa will soon launch in UK too. But in my opinion there are some better alternative to Sensa
I gained 5lbs the first week and gave up, thanks Sensa.
Sensa sends you a 60 day trial for very little money. You have a 30 day trial and 30 days to cancel, if you cancel you must send the package and any of the product back or you will still be billed $89.00. If you pass the 30 day period which you will if you use the full 60 day supply then you will be billed the $89.00. When I canceled my account they offered 30% off then when I said no they offered another chance at 50% off. This is a big billing scam, not sure if the product really works because I figured out the money scam and canceled. With this kind of money scam the product has little if any credibility. They lock you in to big bills right off the bat, how can you trust anyone with this kind of marketing tactic. Its your call Good Luck!
ocmacman – I totally agree with you – when they start giving you huge discounts everytime you click that “cancel” button – my “scam” red-light starts blincking “big time” and I drop it like a hot potatoe….!
Just imagine all the people who pay the full price….!!! S C A M E D!!
Glad that there are other poeple out there that behave the same way !
Way to go.
I was just about to make my first order but, when I read ocmacman’s response about sensa I decided not to do it. I was a victim of money scam in the past, and all because I wanted to loose weight, and believed in the adverbs in the web.
I thought too about trying Sensa, instead just put my mind too it and lost on my own, I quit eating red meat (my choice), junk foods, and started eating 3 balanced meals a day, of good healty foods, and healty snacks, I’ve just past the 41 pounds lost mark, and haven’t even started exercizing yet, that was 5 1/2 months ago. Good luck to all who are trying.
Dont jump on anything right out of the gate. Thats who scammers make their money on. I am 57 and have seen it go down time and time again. So if you want your heart, liver and kidneys still functioning when your my age, get rid of the whos, whats ,and wheres causing your stresses. Then install a moderate eating diet and exercise plan and live in the type of enviroment that you like. That puts you in controll of yourself and thats what it takes to lose weight.
having read the above comments I decided against Sensa, but I am dissapointed as I thought I had discovered something that would give me a kick start in weight loss.If something is good and sustainable then ther should be no “games” with the price.
good blessings to all.
I just heard about Sensa on TV (infomercial) – thought it was too good to be true and went straight to the Internet to see what other users are saying = All the above messages helped me to come back down from my “wishfull thinking cloud” to reality and refrain from spending money on something where scammmers have already put their fingers onto. I also was a victime of a money scam and the nightmare of getting out of these kind of deals is still too raw in my mind – thanks for pointing it out – you saved my day….!!!
Thank god for the internet. I was going to order this product today and decided to search around the internet to see if anyone had any problems with this product. I knew it was “to good to be true”. I’ve been down this road before… always wanting a quick fix. I think if I just cut back on how much I eat and start to exercise I could loose the weight without using this product.
Hi, the ingredients listed above for Sensa are the very same ingredients that are in all the other so called herbal diet pills.
Please, please don’t waste your money, these products do not work.
