Why and How does Hoodia Gordonii work on the Hypothalamus?

The Hypothalamus is that part of the brain which is responsible for sensing if your appetite is full or empty. Hoodia Gordonii induces weight loss through appetite suppression. In the process of suppressing your appetite it works in the Hypothalamus, to give you a false sense of fullness, to curb your need to constantly eat food.

When you eat, the blood sugar levels in your body are raised. Glucose interacts with the cells of the Hyptholamus, and indicates fullness to it, after a meal. The hypothalamus, sends out a signal, which makes you to slow down your food intake and to stop eating.

Hoodia Gorodnii’s P57 works in the same manner, only it is about 10,000 times faster than glucose. By tricking you brain into thinking that your appetite is full, the daily calorie intake is reduced. When this effect is continued for over a period of time, by regularly taking Hoodia Gordonii, weight loss is achieved.

Though Hoodia Gordonii works on the brain cells to reduce appetite, it does not cause any side effects. The san Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert have been using Hoodia Gordonii succulent for thousands of years to suppress their appetite in order to face harsh desert conditions. They did not face any health problems as a result of their usage of this succulent over such a long period of time.
